Project Description

A version of AVIC FEEDS for Windows Phone. This application is used with Pioneer navigation systems. Pioneer has only released the application for iPhone and Blackberry so the purpose of this application is to bring support to the Windows Phone platform.

The application acts as an interface for searching for addresses as well as a search extension via Windows Phone App Connect. The ultimate goal is to take places on a map and store them in your contact list with the GPS coordinates encoded in the name. The contacts are then synced to the Pioneer navigation system via Bluetooth and allow for turn-by-turn directions without having to enter the destination into the head unit manually. The advantage of this is the mapping programs on phones access live data while the database on the head unit is stale and gets out of date very quickly.

This application is privately developed and not associated with the Pioneer Corporation in any way.

Application Description

Unleash the power of your Pioneer in-dash navigation receiver with the AVIC FEEDS for Windows Phone application. Find and save destinations using the built-in Maps app, and transfer it to a compatible Pioneer navigation receiver for turn-by-turn directions. Your destinations are saved to your Contact list, and transferred automatically to your navigation system's Contact list on next system startup via Bluetooth (phone must be paired with system). Destinations created by AVIC FEEDS are indicated with an "M" icon in the navigation system's contacts list. You can then route to that destination with turn-by-turn directions on your Pioneer navigation system.

Set a destination by:
  • Search for a business or a place of interest on the map via the Maps app.
  • Search for an address in AVIC FEEDS
  • Search local places in Local Scout

Compatible Models: AVIC-X930BT and AVIC-Z130BT, also older models AVIC-Z120BT, AVIC-X920BT, AVIC-Z110BT and AVIC-U310BT. Not compatible with other models.
